1. Look at the salary and choose the industry, which is very dangerous for career development
I didn't stay in traditional media for a long time. I entered the Internet industry around 2000. The line of work has not changed much, and I still focus on the fields that I am good at - media and marketing.
In the past, distribution companies with specialized vertical channels helped us distribute magazines and newspapers, and we only created content and produced products. This will require higher efficiency and feedback mechanisms, requiring multiple roles. Your way of thinking, methods, and tools need to be constantly transformed and updated to conform to this new model.

From my personal experience, I have become a middle-level manager of a company, and I am relatively comfortable with the job at hand.

I'm the sales support department and I'll face the customer, and we spent at least five or six years educating the market. After a few years of development, I understand some of the relationships between different roles in the industry, and know some of their specific functions or work content, but this is not enough.
Where is the deeper value point, you can only understand it if you have actually participated in it.
At this time, I will switch to other roles to allow myself to understand the industry more deeply from different dimensions.
When you gradually change from a basic executive to a middle-level or above manager, you will find that management positions require more complex knowledge. You not only have to understand what your employees are currently doing; more often, you need to combine the good things in the industry with the current work from more dimensions, so that it can become a work that can develop in a better direction thing.
This is called a "strategy".
This first requires you to have a deep understanding and cognition of the industry, which cannot be achieved in one or two years. Therefore, don't cross industries easily, which will cause a great waste of your early accumulation.
